Those Fun Winter Days...

This weekend Shad and I celebrated his 23rd birthday! :) His real birthday isn't until the 23rd of January but he will be at drill and won't be able to do much that day. So on Friday night I tried to surprise him by taking him ice skating, something he has been begging me to do for 3 months! My surprise however was ruined by my mother who decided to give Shad my dad's old skates to use and that gave away what we were doing that night. Haha it's okay though Shad was just as excited as I hoped he would be when I told him what we were going to do. That night was a lot of fun. Shad decided to relearn some of his Hockey moves and reteach himself how to stop. He's pretty good most of the time with it...but there were those 3 big falls. :) He paid for it the next couple of days. After Ice skating we got into the hot tub to relax and just to talk. It was a lot of fun. Shad and I don't get much time to ourselves so when we do we like to take advantage of it and catch up with everything going on in our lives. On Saturday we went to my grandma's house and played games. It was a ton of fun! :) Sunday we went to church and then went down to Shad's parent’s house for his birthday dinner with them. It was a lot of fun. Shad's dad had surgery last week so he was in a sling...but he was a good sport and played Rodeomopoly with us. :) All in all the weekend was pretty fun.

Shad started his new job working for a parking service as a supervisor on Monday. He is working up in Park City for the Sundance film festival going on. So far he really likes what he is doing and looks forward to going to work. I like this a lot. Haha

This upcoming weekend will be pretty crazy. My brother and his family are moving back to Utah into my parent’s home, where we live. They will hopefully be here Friday morning and get all moved in and settled. It will be a crazy house for a little bit! But it will be nice to have them back in the State. Shad will miss most of this craziness because he will be at Drill Saturday and Sunday...haha at times I wish I could be gone for it too!
