Hayzen is 2 months! It's crazy how fast time has gone!! I feel like it was just yesterday I was going into labor! But he's my life now! And I wouldn't trade it for the world! He loves his mommy and daddy. But he really loves his papa...sitting in his chair staring at the flag on the wall. He's his fathers son alright! The American Flag is the most interesting thing to him right now. It's amazing how putting him near it so he can see it can calm him down! I'm thinking we have a future soldier in our future! Just like his dad, papa and uncle Cody! And many other family members! I never posted his newborn pictures...but here is Shad's favorite! Hayzen's first "Uniform" :)
In the past month Hayzen has grown a lot. He does a lot more things that he didn't do before...of course that's what's growing up is all about! Him and I have come a long ways!! I breast feed him, and the first 2 weeks were so hard on both of us! He didn't have a good latch, I was in so much pain that I wanted to give up, he wasn't gaining weight fast enough and I had one doctor tell me that if he didn't start gaining weight properly I would have to stop breast feeding and do formula only. :( Talk about being heartbroken! So we started supplementing with formula at night. As soon has his weight got up to where the doctor wanted it we stopped with the formula and have since only done breast milk! I'm so happy! His latch is perfect, I'm producing enough to feed him every meal plus more to put in the freezer for making food for him! I'm very confident that he will not have to have any formula the rest of his life!
Hayzen loves bath time! He giggles and kicks his legs in the water for the first few minutes and then he totally relaxes and just sits there not moving...almost like "oh yeah this feels good" :) haha we give him a bath every night before bedtime (part of our routine) and lather him up with lotion and give him a little baby massage. :) He loves it! Especially getting his feet rubbed! So funny how he instantly will stop moving and let me rub his feet. He love to be sang to! I sing him to sleep every night while rocking him in his chair or in my bed. We used to read stories every night, but that became to difficult...will start that back up when he's a little bit bigger! :) We read stories at other moments in the day though. He goes to sleep pretty easily and sleeps for a good 7 hours most nights! We've been pretty lucky so far! And when he does decide to wake up in the middle of the night I bring him to bed with me and feed him while I sleep! :) It works great! The ease of breast feeding!!
We started having him sleep in our room the first 2 weeks of his life...either in his swing, bouncer or in bed with us. Then when Shad was in Germany I decided to move him to his crib so he could start getting used to that and it went great! It honestly was the perfect time to move him and I'm so happy I did it at that time, because now he has no problems sleeping in his crib and I sleep so much better not having him in our room all night. I still bring him to bed with me every once in awhile when he's having a hard night or is hungry :) It works great for us! Obviously I'm not against co-sleeping! I love it!! :)
We bought him a play mat with a keyboard and toys that hang down for him to play on, he loves it! It plays music when he kicks the keyboard and every time he kicks it and it starts playing music he starts kicking faster and faster...it looks like he's running. He giggles and coos while playing. He started grabbing his toys a few weeks ago. It's fun watching him grow into his toys and start enjoying them!
His little legs are getting so strong! The other night my mom was holding him and all he wanted to do was stand up...not sit or lay on her lap! He started holding himself up really well a few weeks ago and now that's all he wants to do is stand on our legs or floor. :) I should get him some shoes so his feet don't slip all over the place!
Hayzen had his 2 month appointment last week. The doctor said he is doing really good and growing just like he should be. He is 10.2lbs and 22.75inches long! He's getting so big! From 6lbs 14ox 18.5 inches long to what he is today! I love it!! He's in the 25th percentile for Height and the 5th percentile for weight. :)

I also went back to work October 1st :( it's been so hard to be away from Hayzen every day! But he's being taken care of and that's what makes it easier to deal with! When I pick him up I just want to snuggle him all night! And he just wants to be attached to mommy the whole time. :) It makes me happy to know that he misses me and lets me know that he did. :) Work has been really good with me pumping and giving me privacy to do so. It's been going pretty good and I haven't run into any big problems with it!
Till next time...
